Last week the very popular Bella Gelateria franchise opened a new restaurant in Yaletown. The new 80-seat restaurant overlooks the marina and features a custom hand-painted Italian wall mural composed of 75,690 carefully arranged mosaic tiles and a handmade stone pizza oven imported from Naples. The restaurant will be serving authentic Italian napoletana pizza, unique Italian desserts, and of course, James Coleridge’s world famous gelato.
New and unique to this location is an exciting new creation: The Gelatini - premium spirits mixed with Master James’ decadent gelato.
Ingredients such as chai, matcha, sour cherry, raspberries and ginger come in perfect harmony when mixed with Bella’s premium gelato. These are a must try.
Bella’s pizza uses parmigiano cheeses aged for 36 months, prosciutto from San Daniele, Italian extra virgin olive oil and plum tomatoes imported from San Marzano. No detail is too small. The Quattro Formaggi pizza is a masterpiece made with fior di latte, ricotta, parmigiano-reggiano and gorgonzola.
The Completa – fior di latte, prosciutto crudo, arugula, parmigiano-reggiano and EVOO – Italian Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
For the most simple decadence, try Marinara - San Marzano tomatoes, fresh oregano and fresh garlic. Simple. Classic. Delicious.
Bella Gelateria Yaletown will also be the first location in North America to partner with Italy’s Carpigiani Gelato University, offering an advance internship program for aspiring galatieres. James considers himself a custodian of the old artisan way of making handcrafted gelato, preserving the technique from the old industrial wold.
